I had the privilege of participating in my church Christmas play as Mary.At the time the part was assigned to me, I made the assumption that the role only had a few lines.Once I reviewed the script, I discovered that Mary was the leading role, participating in 6 of the 9 scenes of the play.This would be my first time acting ever in my life.Because I had already committed to doing the role, I went ahead and accepted the responsibility.I took it as another part of my personal journey to grow in love. I told myself that I could do this.I told the play director that I could do this.And I spoke it into existence.
We had four weeks to prepare for the play. And during this four week time frame, there were a number of personal situations preventing me from being able to focus on learning my lines.My grandmother passed, there was tension among the family due to certain actions that had or had not taken place during this time frame, I got a speeding ticket, my son got a speeding ticket, I had to have an emergency root canal, and three of my close family members were in some type of legal trouble, all for totally different reasons.Boy was the negative energy pulling away at me. It was trying its best to pull me away from doing something good.It was testing my faith.It was trying to pull me backwards as I continue to move forward in love. I am proud to say that I never gave up.Each day, I would tell myself, "I am going to get it done.I can do this."At each rehearsal, I would tell the play director that I was going to do this and that she and the members of the drama ministry would not be disappointed.It took me up to the day before the play to learn all of my lines.Even up until that time, I would continue to talk to myself and encourage myself.I never once doubted myself, even though I was struggling focusing on my lines.Everyone in the drama ministry was very supportive and encouraging as well.Not once did anyone ever doubt that it would be done. Not once did anyone give an appearance that they doubted success.It was always totally positive reinforcement. I prayed for focus so that I could memorize my lines with the emotion, energy and feeling needed to share this specific love story.I spoke it into existence and I did it.
The 1st show went very well. I remembered all of my lines except one in which another actress added a part to her line to help me remember mine.I in turn was able to help out another actor who forgot one of his lines in a similar way.The audience could not tell the difference. I received several favorable comments from the audience.Some asked if I was a professional or inquired about how long I had been acting.They were amazed to know that this was my first time, ever.The 2nd show was even better.I received similar comments and questions from the audience.My family and friends were amazed at my acting ability.I felt super wonderful inside.The first reason was for my ability to get into the character and be used to tell the story of the birth of love (Jesus).The second reason was knowing that regardless of what was presented to me and the challenges I faced, I never gave up.I spoke it into existence and was able to accomplish my goal.The third reason was just knowing that love was the driving force behind it all.
This example is a real life testimony to the power of love.Love did not allow me to give up.Love allowed me to continue thinking positive.Love heard my prayers and answered them.Love allowed me to accomplish my goal.My faith in love allowed me to speak it into existence.Love chose me and used me in this role to share love with others.Love magnified my love and the love of others.It did it for me.It can do it for you.Love always.Love daily.365 love.
