Never Say Never

Love Yesterday,
"There was nothing major going on today.  I just chose to make it a great day and I feel good about it." --- Torion

Today,
Over the past six months, I spent time writing letters to someone who was incarcerated.  With each letter, I would include a general, positive and uplifting message in the first paragraph. The theme was always around the thought of how the past is a lesson learned for a better today and tomorrow and how today and tomorrow has so much positive potential.  The potential is based on how we look at things (the glass is half full vs. half empty).  I would then follow with updates of what's going on in my life and the life of those we both knew.  At the end of each letter, I would also include a few photos of people, places and/or things.  I would then insert a few pages from previous 365 Love messages.  From time to time, I would send books.  In addition to those requested, I would send a few positive and motivational books of my personal choice.

Upon release from prison yesterday, I was highly uplifted to hear a change in overall demeanor and general attitude for this individual.  First, they were extremely grateful for being picked up and for the ongoing support.  While the original release notification was early morning, it was not until early in the next morning (3:30 AM) that the actual release took place.  Instead of speaking negative about the long wait, the comments were those of a positive nature.  "If I had not done what I did, I would not have been there in the first place."  "I've had to wait this long, I can wait a little longer."  If you knew this individual, that in itself was a change for the better.  As we traveled to take them home, it was noted that they left some of their books behind.  Those referencing gangster, non-positive references were left.  Those that were positive and uplifting were the ones chosen to bring home.  I then smiled on the inside and out.  At that specific moment, I knew that love made a connection with this individual.  Love used me, to send positive messages, that contributed to a positive change.  Love made a difference.  Other proactive discussions included getting a job, doing the right things, and making better choices.  Again, everything was an indication of positive change; a different attitude; a new outlook.

If you asked about whether this person would ever change for the better six months ago, some would have responded, "Never." I beg to differ.  Everyone has the potential to change.  It takes the right situation and/or the right person, to bring about positive change.  It takes love to bring about positive change.  Something as simple as weekly letters and periodic books, made a difference to this individual in addition to other support /resources received.  Love made a difference to this individual.

With love, you can never say never.  Never is not a reality of one's ability to love.  Love is always possible.  It has to be received the right way, at the right time, with the right situation(s).  The next time you begin to doubt love, think of this story and never say never, ever again.   Love always. Love daily. 365 Love.TM

Reflect on the concept of "never say never" when love is involved. Think about how love picks you up when you fall.

I Feel Good

Love Yesterday,
"There is something about a bad situation that you can always count on- the good side of the end result.  Love is always there for you through the good and bad." --- Torion

Today,
Today was a great day and boy, do I feel good.  Love has been so good to me. There are so many positive things going on in my life right now.  I know that they are a result of my choice to love.  There was nothing major going on today.  I just chose to make it a great day and I feel good about it.  The sun was shining bright this morning.  It was a beautiful day.  I had a great day at work.  I got my hair done. So, my head not only looks good, it feels good too.  I stopped by to visit my sister and we talked and laughed.  I saw a good game of basketball on TV.  I came home and had some "me" time for myself.  And you know I can't have "me" time without listening to some good, feel good music.  My son received his acceptance letter to his college of choice, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).  Lastly, I got a chance to share  a 365 Love note with my readers.  And you know what? I feel good.  What more could I ask for.  Today was a feel good kind of day.  Love always. Love daily. 365 Love.

Have you told someone you loved them today?  I have.

...and Future Tomorrows,
Reflect on all of the positive things in your day and how you can choose to feel good about them. Think about times you thought you would never feel this way.

Love yesterday, today and future tomorrows.  ----Torion
